Job Summary

HealthStar Physicians of Hot Springs is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive Diagnostic Scheduler I to join our imaging department. This position is responsible for coordinating diagnostic imaging appointments, communicating with patients and clinical staff, and ensuring scheduling requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently schedule radiology and diagnostic imaging appointments using electronic health record (EHR) system, Athenahealth.
• Communicate appointment delays, cancellations, and scheduling changes to patients and clinical staff in a timely manner.
• Manage a high volume of incoming and outgoing calls while providing professional, courteous, and helpful customer service.
• Identify scheduling conflicts, incomplete orders, or other issues and coordinate with imaging technologists and the prior authorization department to resolve them.
• Follow established radiology scheduling protocols to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately.
• Work closely with prior authorization staff to ensure examinations are not scheduled before required authorizations are obtained.
• Contact patients regarding anticipated copayments or coinsurance amounts due at the time of service.
• Prepare necessary financial and imaging paperwork for patients to review and sign at their upcoming appointments.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned, consistent with the needs of the department and the responsibilities of the position.

Work Location: In person

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Pay: From $16.25 per hour
